Earlier today, Sony announced the first product to come from the initiative: a special edition PlayStation 5 DualSense controller and console cover marked with personal artwork and quotes from James himself. Now, LeBron James's connection to gaming has reached the next level thanks to his role as part of the new PlayStation Playmaker program.
He has also been featured as a playable character in Fortnite and MultiVersus in addition to basketball titles like NBA 2K23. A recent example would be his humorous stint as Kratos in a God of War: Ragnarok trailer alongside the likes of Ben Stiller and John Travolta. When he isn’t dominating on the basketball court or giving back to his community, LeBron James has made appearances in several video games and game-related media.
Of course, no list of world-famous athletes with a passion for gaming would be complete without LeBron James, the four-time NBA champion and star player for the Los Angeles Lakers. Some of the big names to already be connected to this exciting new initiative include professional BMX athlete Nigel Sylvester and WNBA All-Rookie NaLyssa Smith.
